STAR TREK Soldiers of Pawns ''The Continuity''

Captain Pike of the starship Enterprise is injured and permanently disabled during an heroic rescue. James Tiberius Kirk, who has for one year boldly gone and explored far and wide as Captain of a newly re-built and re-commissioned starship Farragut, is ordered to assume command of Enterprise, where he is reunited with Spock.
Picking up where Pike had left off before the tragedy that disabled him, Kirk discovers that Enterprise has been providing support for a highly secret Federation project, and he is also reunited with Doctor Carol Marcus, who is project director of the program. A year earlier on Christmas Eve, they met each other through Doctor Leonard “Bones” McCoy, and since then she and Kirk have been having a long-distance relationship, whenever and wherever they could. Closer proximity suddenly allows their relationship to evolve into a whirlwind romance.
But all is not well as surviving elements of the conspiracy thought to have been uncovered and crushed a year ago, strike once again...and they have a name: the “Continuity.”
